Seth and Jordan are so happy to welcome a baby boy into their family. Ellis was born a few weeks early and spent some time in the NICU. Thankfully he is healthy and strong now, and is finally home with his parents and big sister Caytlyn.
Seth and my husband work together at City of Refuge and Jordan and I easily became friends. We have loved spending time together, and it’s been so much fun watching their family grow.
One day soon after we moved to Atlanta Seth and Jordan, newlyweds at the time, were at our house when one of our boys came running through the hallway to the room where we were sitting. I remember Jordan saying how much she loves to hear the pitter-patter of children’s footsteps on wooden floors and she hopes someday she would hear that sound in their home, too.
Seth and Jordan’s home is full of the sound of footsteps now. Like any two year old, Caytlyn loves action. She loves her brother, too, but since he’s still so tiny she spends most of her time playing on her own or with one of her parents. She is full of ideas and when she smiles you can’t keep from smiling, too.
Caring for a newborn who has colic + a very active toddler keeps both parents super busy, but Seth and Jordan do it so well–working constantly to make sure they take care of everyone’s needs. Occasionally they grab a bite of food for themselves, but right now even that isn’t a priority. They may be sleep deprived, but their commitment to love their family well helps them push through the tough times. Though much of their time is spent caring for a newborn, they make sure to spend one on one time with Caytlyn, too. Caytlyn and Ellis are both so loved.
Spending a Saturday morning documenting Seth and Jordan’s life was just so much fun! None of these photos are posed or prompted, but are an honest representation of a weekend morning.
